About The Position
This internship is for individuals in the last semester of a master's or doctorate neonatal nurse practitioner program. The intern will work at both American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH) and Meriter Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Units. The role involves delivering care to neonates and their families in a learning environment, under the direct supervision of a nurse practitioner or physician. The intern will demonstrate and participate in medical/nursing clinical knowledge, communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a Master of Science in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice graduate program
- 2 years of nursing experience
- Registered Nurse license Upon Hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Upon Hire
Responsibilities
- Work at both American Family Children’s Hospital and Meriter Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the last semester of either a master’s or doctorate neonatal nurse practitioner program.
- Deliver care to neonates and their families in a learning environment, under the immediate and direct supervision of another nurse practitioner or physician.
- Demonstrate and participate in medical/nursing clinical knowledge, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism and systems-based practice in caring for your patients and families.
