About The Position

The Neighbor Resource Specialist supports GraceWorks Ministries’ goals, values, and philosophy by exhibiting excellence, quality service, commitment, and accountability. This role provides compassionate, coordinated support to Neighbors by connecting them to community resources, managing service delivery and documentation, and leading the planning and execution of the Manger event, including volunteer, gift, and partner coordination to ensure efficient, dignified care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, or experience in a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Motivated, energetic self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good judgment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn new database systems.
  • Highly developed organizational, planning and oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time and self-management skills.
  • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, respectful customer service to all Neighbors.
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and connect Neighbors to appropriate support through coordinated referrals.
  • Manage service coordination, including utility assistance requests, documentation, and payment processing.
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and document all Neighbor interactions.
  • Support daily operations, including Utility assistance request processing, scheduling food appointments, answering phones/emails, issuing vouchers, and assisting the front desk staff as needed.
  • Follow Shelter and Support program guidelines while ensuring confidentiality of all Neighbor information.
  • Share resource updates with the team and collaborate effectively with staff and partners.
  • Participate in GraceWorks events and adapt to changing needs as they arise.
  • Lead planning and execution of the Manger event with all key stakeholders, including schedule, gift inventory, and volunteer coordination.
  • Serve as on-site week of event lead, managing volunteers, timelines, and overall event operations.
  • Act as primary liaison between GraceWorks, the host site (FFUMC), toy collection sites, vendors, and community partners.
  • Oversee gift coordination: manage collection sites, schedule pickups, track inventory, and purchase additional gifts as needed.
  • Coordinate with Director of Operations to host volunteer inventory days prior to the event and ensure timely delivery of gifts to the event site.
  • Support event setup, restocking, and post-event donation distribution to partner organizations.
  • Document processes, lead post-event debrief, and maintain materials for future planning.
