As an NDT Technician Assistant, you help ensure that critical infrastructure—including pipelines, pressure vessels, and structural steel—is safe and reliable. You work closely with certified NDT Technicians to inspect materials using non-destructive methods such as radiography, ultrasound, and dye testing. The role involves traveling to job sites, which may include plants, pipelines, and industrial facilities, sometimes early or overnight. You prepare and set up inspection equipment, assist with inspections under a technician’s guidance, follow safety procedures, and help document results and clean up after inspections. Work takes place outdoors or in industrial environments and can involve long periods on your feet and physically demanding tasks. This is an entry point to a career in non-destructive testing. PROtect describes potential advancement to Level II or III NDT Technician, testing specialist, Team Lead, Regional Inspector, Project Manager, or QA/QC roles. The company offers training and certification support, career advancement opportunities, and travel and relocation opportunities.
