About The Position

This position assists with the planning, coordination, and performance of design, analysis, and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services. The role contributes to planning, developing, and coordinating important engineering projects, providing specialized technical assistance to team members. The engineer will use advanced techniques and modified extensions of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, determining their own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives. Work is performed under limited supervision, with reviews focused on accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives. The role also acts as a liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area. Additionally, the engineer will actively work to improve daily processes, ensure all work meets customer requirements, and maintain current knowledge of developments in their field of specialty or related aircraft fields to recommend innovations. The position requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 5 years in specific technical discipline or 10 years broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
  • Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 years for Masters, 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
  • Knowledge of NDT Systems, Equipment, and Technology
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to detect subtle defects that could compromise safety.
  • Communication: Clearly explain technical findings to cross-functional teams, including production, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Peer Engineering Groups.
  • Problem-Solving: A methodical approach to troubleshooting equipment malfunctions or ambiguous data.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with writing, reviewing, and maintaining NDT inspection procedures and techniques.
  • Work closely with the Quality organization to supplement training of Level I and II technicians.
  • Support Design reviews for reference standards.
  • Define NDT requirements during the engineering design phase to ensure product supportability and affordability.
  • Support M&P MRB team with discrepancies.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for material or mechanical failures identified through testing.
  • Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects.
  • Provides specialized technical assistance to team members.
  • Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
  • Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
