About The Position

MISTRAS Group has an immediate need for a dedicated NDT Coordinator for a full-time, nested position in Pasadena, TX. This role requires overseeing daily Construction NDE activities, ensuring technician availability aligns with priority work, and scheduling NDE and RT assignments. The NDT Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with industry standards and safety regulations. This position involves setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting tests with appropriate NDT technique(s), and interpreting, evaluating, and documenting findings. The individual must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of their certification, capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I technicians, and knowledgeable about relevant codes and standards. Problem identification and resolution, obtaining and analyzing information, and effective presentation of numerical data are key aspects of this role. The position also requires acting on behalf of a Quality Management Analyst when needed, coordinating and executing FEAS assignments, and stepping into NDE craft work during busy periods or outages to maintain workflow. Flexibility is essential during outages, emergency work, and periods of heavy inspection demand. The role demands the ability to navigate refinery drawings, prepare documentation packages, and maintain organized electronic records. A critical function is judging incoming requests, determining justified work, and keeping technicians aligned with real priorities, ensuring Maintenance moves forward without delays, bad scheduling, or unauthorized work, while maintaining oversight of reports, requests, and technician utilization.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Level II MT, PT, UTT-ISQ Certifications
  • Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A for the following is required: MT/PT/UTT
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified and capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I
  • Must be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the

  • High School Diploma/GED/Degree
  • Proof of classroom hours/Training in NDT
  • Previous level II certifications/OJT

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications preferred e.g RT, RTFI, VT, CWI, API 510, API 570, API 653
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, AutoCad, QMDB, and BlueBeam highly preferred.
