About The Position

Under direct supervision, performs Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities include assisting and supporting management in ensuring that fissile/fissionable nuclear material is handled, stored, utilized and transported in compliance with all applicable requirements and in a manner that protects the safety of personnel and property by preventing a nuclear criticality safety incident. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned: Assists with conducting and documenting nuclear criticality safety evaluations using appropriate computational tools and established experimental methods Inputs data into the inspection electronic tracking system Assists with physical evaluation of facilities, materials and fissile/fissionable material handling operations to include inspections, surveillance, appraisals and audits to ensure safe operations and compliance Provides assigned technical, administrative or functional support to the management team Assists with development of technical reports/proceedings addressing nuclear safety reviews of planned experiments and nuclear facility operations Assists with development of preliminary hazards assessments Performs duties of general/routine complexity in nature Mains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner Actively participates in Safety Work Groups

Requirements

  • Internal employees must be in current position for (1) year or greater to be eligible to apply.

  • The ability to obtain/maintain "L" or "Q" Clearance, or HSPD12 Uncleared badge one year from hire date
  • Background Check
  • Any site required training
  • Prospective employees must be available to start work with Southern Ohio Cleanup Company LLC within a reasonable time frame after acceptance of SOCCo’s offer of employment (typically 30 days or less).

Responsibilities
