About The Position

The Nautilus Barback supports bartenders and helps maintain efficient service at the poolside bar. The role includes replenishing beverages, ingredients, and supplies; preparing garnishes; assisting with bar setup and breakdown; keeping the bar and guest areas clean and organized; and supporting drink-order preparation and delivery during busy periods. The Barback also provides friendly assistance to customers, monitors stock, follows health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-compliance requirements, and works with bartenders, servers, and bar managers to create a positive guest experience. The position may require varying schedules based on business needs, mandatory training and meetings, regular attendance, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Replenish and restock the bar with liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies throughout the shift.
• Assist bartenders with setting up and breaking down the bar before and after shifts or events.
• Prepare garnishes and other drink essentials.
• Maintain bar cleanliness by washing and drying glassware, wiping surfaces, and regularly removing trash.
• Keep bar tools, equipment, and supplies organized and accessible.
• Clear dirty glasses and empty drinkware from guest tables and bar counters.
• Monitor stock levels and alert bartenders or management when supplies are running low.
• Provide polite and friendly customer service, including assisting with basic requests and answering questions.
• Support bartenders so customer needs are met and the bar runs efficiently.
• Work with bartenders, servers, and bar managers to support smooth service during busy periods.
• Help prepare and run drink orders during peak hours to ensure timely delivery.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for beverage handling and bar cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with alcohol laws and regulations and responsible handling of drink orders.
• Maintain regular attendance in conformance with standards.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
