Under the supervision of the Chief Naturalist, the Nature Center Host is responsible for managing the visitor experience by answering questions, handing out maps, and facilitating interactions with museum displays and education animals. This role also involves answering phones and electronic communications, maintaining the cleanliness of the museum and gift shop, taking reservations and registrations for programming and rentals, and handling cash in a retail setting. Additionally, the Host will create displays, contribute to publications, and assist with special events, rentals, and programming as needed. A key aspect of the role is to follow all safety procedures and support the Park District's safety program.
