About The Position
The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water, is recruiting for a Natural Resource Manager 2 in Anchorage. This position leads the water management unit and supervises six advanced-level professionals who manage water within Southcentral Alaska as well as several statewide industry functions. This position manages statewide oil and gas water management across private, federal, and state-owned lands. The position also supervises the construction sector and municipal water management statewide. This position balances stewardship and management of the state´s water resources by ensuring operators establish and comply with water-use regulations to maximize sustainable water resources. The mission of the Division of Mining, Land and Water is to "Put Alaska's resources to work, now and in the future", and aligning with this theme, the purpose of the Water Resources Section is to monitor and manage water resources to facilitate maximum beneficial use consistent with the public interest for present and future generations of Alaskans.
Requirements
- Administration and Management: Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
- Environmental Science: Knowledge of the interdisciplinary concepts, principles, theories, and methods of investigating the natural and physical environment, including examination of ecology, biology, physics, chemistry, plant science, zoology, mineralogy, oceanography, limnology, soil science, geology and physical geography, atmospheric, and other related sciences in the protection and improvement of the environment and its resources.

- Project Management: Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
- Education in a natural resource field, law, public administration, planning or economics and/or progressively responsible professional experience or managerial experience in natural resource management.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
