About The Position

The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water, is recruiting for a Natural Resource Specialist 1/2/3 in Anchorage. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Realty Services Section, Title and Conveyances Team is seeking someone to join our 10-person team, which is responsible for drafting title reports to support issuance of leases, easements, and other disposals of interest in state land, and is responsible for drafting conveyance documents for issuance of state patents, quitclaim deeds, and other instruments. In this position, you will be: Researching state land ownership, including searching records in numerous databases, reviewing document records, and using mapping applications to complete your research. Delving into state and federal laws, common property law, and title industry practices that help frame the transfer and creation of land ownership and encumbrances in Alaska. Writing legally defensible title reports and conveyance documents to memorialize your research findings and convey interests in state land. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) mission is to “Develop, conserve and maximize the use of Alaska's natural resources consistent with the public interest.” The DMLW mission is to “To provide for the appropriate use and management of Alaska's state-owned land and water, aiming toward maximum use consistent with the public interest.” The Realty Services Section supports DNR and DMLW’s missions by ensuring clear title for disposal of state land and issuing authorizations on state land.
