About The Position

DHL Express currently has an opening for a National Security Coordinator in our Brampton, ON facility. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Security, the successful candidate will play a key role in helping the company achieve its corporate goals and objectives. Working within a National Control Room environment, the National Security Coordinator will be responsible for day‑to‑day support and administration of regulatory and corporate compliance programs across all Canadian locations. The role will also assist in developing and implementing additional security support initiatives nationwide.

Requirements

  • Available to work irregular hours, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Able to obtain CSIS “Reliability Status” security clearance.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Law and Security Administration, Criminology, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills
  • Proficient with PC databases and presentation/graphics software.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities
  • Valid certifications in Standard First Aid and CPR.
  • All applicants are required to pass interviews, a criminal background check for all countries lived in for the past 5 years, and other background checks in order to qualify for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor and manage all company security systems, including intrusion detection, access control, and CCTV platforms.
  • Conduct thorough investigations involving shipment‑related and non‑shipment incidents to protect company assets and ensure operational integrity.
  • Support and uphold DHL Security Programs, standards, and policies across all applicable areas.
  • Collaborate effectively with local, national, and international law enforcement and emergency services to maintain compliance and support joint investigations.
  • Assist in optimizing fleet operations by leveraging data and insights from the company’s telematics systems and DHL fleet team.
  • Continuously evaluate risks and recommend enhancements to existing security structures, processes, and prevention strategies.
  • Monitor and support physical security practices at all DHL facilities across Canada to ensure consistent compliance and effectiveness.
  • Participate in rotational on‑call responsibilities to provide timely support during security‑related events or emergencies.
  • Deliver and support training initiatives and loss‑prevention awareness programs for DHL personnel.
  • Perform remote facility compliance inspections and escalate concerns or irregularities as needed.
  • Commit to travel of up to 15% annually to support operational and security objectives.
