About The Position

The National Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that leverage technical knowledge to drive growth in the battery market. This role requires an individual with technical expertise in battery technologies, strong sales acumen, and exceptional leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of battery chemistry, design, and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management within the battery, energy storage, or related industry.
  • Deep technical knowledge of battery technologies, including lithium-ion and lithium-iron-phosphate cell chemistries.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving significant revenue growth in a technical sales environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading sales teams in a technical field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate technical features into customer benefits.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel nationally to meet with customers and attend industry events as needed (~25% travel)

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive national sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage Totex’s network of sales representatives, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market analysis and networking within the industry.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers by providing technical support and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product development teams to understand product specifications, applications, and competitive advantages.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product development.
  • Prepare detailed sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for senior management review.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, establishing the company as a leader in the battery industry.
