About The Position

Farmers is seeking ambitious individuals to join their team as National Sales Agents. This role focuses on achieving new business premium objectives by quoting, counseling, and binding policies for personal lines, specialty lines, commercial lines, and flood insurance products. Agents will evaluate and place risks with appropriate carriers based on their appetite and underwriting guidelines, working with both carriers and customers. The role involves underwriting, pricing, and placement of risks with binding authority for up to 30 carriers across all 50 states. National Sales Agents will utilize their insurance industry knowledge and market expertise to meet customer needs and achieve positive business outcomes, building relationships with customers, referring agents, and outside partners through a consultative approach. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years insurance or relevant sales experience required.
  • Obtain and maintain resident and non-resident property and casualty license required (P&C license is required).

Responsibilities

  • Achieve new business premium objectives through quoting, counseling, and binding policies for personal lines, specialty lines, commercial lines, and flood insurance products and carriers via inbound contacts.
  • Evaluate and place risks with the appropriate appointed carriers based on individual carrier appetite and underwriting guidelines.
  • Underwrite, price, and place risks with binding authority for up to 30 carriers in all 50 states.
  • Use insurance industry knowledge and market expertise to meet customer needs and achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Develop and build relationships with customers, referring agents, and outside partners by providing a consultative approach.
  • Quote and counsel consumers on coverage using multiple systems.
  • Make coverage recommendations and bind policies for multiple products and carriers via inbound contacts.
  • Maintain carrier contract production standards as an appointed agent and field underwriter for up to 30 carriers.
  • Accept, modify, or reject risks within set authority level, based on a review of loss experience, inspection reports, file information, web resources, policyholder tenure, related policies, and nature of risk in accordance with carrier guidelines, standards, and compliance.
  • Clarify and resolve moderately complex insurance-related questions utilizing industry knowledge and insurance expertise.
  • Maintain 3rd party carrier underwriting and performance standards.
  • Build personal skill set by participating in industry-related courses to expand product and system knowledge, as well as stay current with relevant products.
  • Meet and maintain performance level standards as outlined in performance objectives.
  • Model core values and understand and support the organization's overall strategy.
  • Maintain and update business records in policy and lead management systems in accordance with compliance and accounting practices.
  • Work on special projects and other duties assigned.
