About The Position

Aviva Canada is seeking National Property Claims Adjusters for their Customer Response - Property team. They offer a comprehensive training program for individuals with strong customer service experience but no insurance background. This is a hybrid role, requiring rotating shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work if needed. The primary focus is on claim settlement via telephone, emphasizing quality and customer service. The successful candidate will collaborate with property vendors to quantify claims, apply cost-saving guidelines, and ensure superior customer service.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of claims insurance experience or insurance call center or customer service experience in any industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand
  • Strong customer service background
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingualism in English and French
  • Knowledge of Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean & Punjabi
  • Licenses for claims adjusting in any provinces

Responsibilities

  • Support claims customer demand through a call-center environment
  • Investigate and negotiate property claims in accordance with Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines
  • Confirm coverage and compile First Notice of Loss (FNOL) information for incoming claims
  • Ensure data accuracy and issue payments to vendors, insureds, and experts
  • Review and compile facts, policy, and technical reports, analyze estimates, value claims, and negotiate/settle claims accordingly
  • Advise and counsel customers on claim status, provide prompt and exemplary customer service, and keep related parties informed
  • Ensure all correspondence is completed efficiently, including the creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss, and reservation of rights letters
  • Recognize questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities
  • Review case law to determine liability
  • Meet Property team performance expectations and contribute to team success
  • Adhere to and support policies surrounding attendance
