About The Position

As a National Account Manager for Government Sales you’ll be part of our Outdoor team working as a remote employee. You will be responsible for developing and expanding relationships and purchasing contracts with government agencies, municipalities, and other public sector entities across the nation. Your focus will be on driving growth and increasing market share for our professional outdoor equipment, including Hustler and Cub Cadet professional mowing equipment and DEWALT Ascent HH, within the public sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience within a Consumer Goods or Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) organization, with a strong preference for experience working with government entities, municipalities, or public sector clients.
  • Previous experience managing large, complex accounts and navigating public procurement processes.
  • Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower others to achieve objectives through a team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • 50% travel expectation varying throughout the year.

  • Understanding of independent dealer and retailer markets is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual strategic plan to grow our business with government agencies and municipalities, with clear, measurable objectives and monthly progress reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in procurement, fleet management, and operations within government and municipal accounts.
  • Facilitate product demonstrations and presentations for public sector clients, collaborating with Professional Development Managers (PDMs) and other field resources.
  • Support new product launches and coordinate pilot programs and purchasing trials with government and municipal partners.
  • Represent the company at national and state-level government and municipal associations, and participate in relevant industry events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop parts and service strategies that maximize equipment uptime and minimize downtime for public sector clients.
  • Work closely with Dealer Sales Managers (DSMs), Professional Development Managers (PDMs), and Regional Sales Directors (RSDs) to identify and engage the right dealer partners for government and municipal accounts.
