About The Position

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking an experienced, field-based commercial professional to own and expand adoption of Oxford Nanopore sequencing across the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario. This role is well suited to an account executive who can build strong relationships in complex scientific environments and drive long-term customer success. You will be responsible for driving growth of the GridION and PromethION platforms across academic, government, biotech, and clinical research-focused organizations. Success in this role requires strategic account planning, technical fluency, and the ability to guide customers through sophisticated evaluation and purchasing processes. This is a remote, field-based position. Candidates must be based in Toronto, Ontario, or the Greater Toronto Area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of field-based commercial experience, including at least 3 years selling scientific instrumentation, capital equipment, or other complex laboratory solutions.
  • Experience in the NGS market or related fields is strongly preferred.
  • Proven success managing complex, consultative sales processes in competitive environments
  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle, forecasting, and CRM systems
  • Ability to translate scientific needs into practical commercial opportunities
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently within a matrixed, international organization
  • Established professional relationships with scientific and operational stakeholders within the assigned territory
  • Consistent initiative, sound judgment, and follow-through in managing complex commercial opportunities
