About The Position

A family in New Providence, New Jersey, is seeking a nanny to care for three boys ages 7, 11, and 15. The family is flexible about the official schedule for the right candidate. The minimum schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM until 6:30–8:30 PM. Additional hours may be available through daytime household management and family-assistant duties, a morning shift from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, or a combination of morning and afternoon coverage. These options can provide up to 40 hours per week. The nanny must be open to occasional schedule changes or additional hours, including when children need to stay home from school.

Duties include helping the children empty backpacks and providing snacks; driving them to and from after-school activities; tidying up after them; doing their laundry; making appointments; and organizing their closets. Cooking for the family is appreciated but not required. The position includes once-weekly date-night care, including putting the younger two boys to bed. Other errands may include grocery shopping, washing dishes, and putting away the boys’ belongings. Pet care includes occasional dog walks and taking the dog to the groomer or daycare. The family has a pool, and the candidate should be comfortable swimming if needed.

The family is looking for an energetic, creative, reliable, patient nanny who enjoys children, notices what needs to be done, takes initiative, and is confident making decisions. The nanny should encourage the boys to become more independent through guidance, reminders, and collaborative help. Flexibility is important as the children’s schedules vary with school vacations and sports seasons. Activities may include walks, art, library visits, outings, playdates, and taking children to appointments. The family values the right personality and fit more than additional education. Applicants must be able to provide valid work and childcare references and will be subject to various background screens.
