Part-time Nanny in San Diego, CA for an 8-year-old and an 11-year-old
About The Position
A caring, down-to-earth family of 4 with a sense of humor who love reading, exploring their children's interests, taking walks, and spending quality time together. Both parents work outside the home most of the time. They value kindness, consistency, communication, and helping their children grow into confident and independent individuals. The 8-year-old daughter is on the autism spectrum and has ADHD, and the 11-year-old son is independent and self-directed. The ideal candidate is reliable, friendly, punctual, and patient, enjoys working with school-aged children, understands the importance of routines, and is comfortable supporting neurodivergent children with warmth, engagement, and encouragement.
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with autism and/or ADHD
- 3 years of childcare experience (open to different types of childcare)
- Clean driving record (willing to complete a driving screen for employment)
- Reliable vehicle
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current auto insurance
- Willing to take a drug screen for employment
- Open communication
- Commitment to consistency and punctuality
Nice To Haves
- Experience in special education
- Behavioral support experience
- Experience in occupational therapy environments
- Working extensively with neurodivergent children
Responsibilities
- School pick-ups using your personal vehicle
- Transportation to activities and appointments such as weekly speech and occupational therapy
- Preparing snacks and simple children’s dinners
- Homework supervision/homework help
- Supporting established routines
- Helping children stay on task
- Light tidying related to the children, including loading the dishwasher
- Encouraging age-appropriate responsibilities/chores
