Private Nanny/Household Assistant (PT)
About The Position
We are seeking a dependable, caring, and organized part-time, live-out Nanny / Household Assistant in Buchanan, New York, to care for a 6-year-old boy and provide light household support. Approximately 75% of the role focuses on childcare and 25% on household duties. The schedule and days are to be determined, for 25 hours per week. Compensation is $30–$35 per hour, W2 (on the books). The start date is November 2, 2026. The role includes picking up the child from school and transporting him to after-school activities, helping with homework and daily routines, preparing simple meals and snacks, and providing attentive supervision in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. Household support includes light housekeeping and tidying, basic organization, watering plants, letting the family dog outside, and occasional light household management tasks. The candidate should be comfortable in a home with a dog and cat and flexible for occasional travel as needed.
Requirements
- Previous professional childcare experience, preferably with school-aged children.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation for school pickups and activities.
- Ability to assist with elementary-level homework.
- Comfortable working in a home with a dog and cat.
- Ability to prepare simple meals and snacks.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Ability to manage childcare and light household responsibilities efficiently.
- Flexibility for occasional travel as needed.
- Honest, trustworthy, dependable, warm, patient, organized, proactive, attentive to detail, responsible, safety-conscious, adaptable, and willing to assist with household needs.

Responsibilities
