DARIEN, CT FAMILY SEEKING LIVE-IN/OUT NANNY/FAMILY ASSISTANT

The Nanny League, Inc.•Town of Cortlandt, NY
•$40 - $50•Onsite

About The Position

A warm, busy Connecticut family is seeking an experienced, proactive full-time nanny and family assistant for three children, including an infant. This is a long-term, weekend-focused position for someone who enjoys being actively involved with children and can take initiative in helping a busy household run smoothly. The target start date is early November. The family is open to a live-in arrangement on workdays, with a private guest bedroom and bathroom, or a live-out arrangement. Candidates must live within commuting distance and be willing to commute to the city with the family occasionally. The schedule is approximately 40 to 50 hours per week, includes weekend coverage, early mornings, and some evenings, and provides two guaranteed days off. Hours may vary based on school days off, children’s illnesses, and parent work events. On rare occasions, the family may request an overnight when an event runs late; notice and compensation will be discussed in advance. The role combines childcare and family support. Childcare includes age-appropriate activities, outings, reading and play; managing school and activity transitions; preparing meals and snacks; and safe driving in the family’s dedicated car. Family assistant duties include children’s laundry, tidying children’s spaces, meal planning, grocery shopping, and preparing nutritious meals. The nanny will collaborate respectfully with the housekeeper on staff. Confidence using an epinephrine auto-injector in an emergency is essential. The ideal candidate has substantial professional nanny experience in private homes, strong infant experience, and experience managing multiple children of different ages. Excellent recent references, a clean driving record, strong safety awareness, fluent English, swimming ability, current infant and child CPR and first aid certification, and completion of a first responder course are required. Tdap is required, and Spanish fluency is strongly preferred. An NDA is required. The family will conduct reference and background checks and arrange a paid, multi-day working trial before making a final hiring decision. Pay is $40–$50+ per hour gross, depending on experience, and is paid via payroll. Benefits will be discussed based on experience, schedule, and responsibilities.
