Nail Technician - Full Time - Independence
About The Position
The Nail Technician provides salon clients with professional services relating to the care and treatment of nails and skin. The role is based in a high-volume salon and spa specializing in natural nails, manicures, pedicures, and gel/Shellac services. The technician is expected to contribute to client service and retail sales goals, build and maintain a client base, and participate actively in ongoing education. Educational opportunities are available in-house and through outside classes. The position reports to the Salon Manager and is nonexempt. The salon is located in a premier mall location. The technician also maintains a clean, organized, regulation-compliant work area and professional appearance, and communicates with salon management about issues and needs.
Requirements
- Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
- Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Positive attitude and team-player mentality.
- Passion for the beauty industry and willingness to participate in ongoing education.
Nice To Haves
- Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
- Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
- Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
- Provide quality professional services using technical skills and recommend appropriate retail products to clients.
- Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Continue education on products, services, and current industry issues.
- Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
- Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
- Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
- Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
- Meet salon attendance and tardiness guidelines.
- Maintain an updated professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
