Nail Tech - Full Time
About The Position
The Nail Technician provides salon clients with professional nail and skin care services. The role is based in a high-volume salon and spa specializing in natural nails, manicures, pedicures, and gel/Shellac services. The technician is expected to bring a positive attitude and team-player mentality, build a client base, meet service and retail goals, and participate actively in ongoing education. Training opportunities include in-house and external classes. The salon is located in a premier, high-traffic mall location in the Southeast. The position is nonexempt and reports to the Salon Manager or Desk Manager; the position description also identifies the Salon Manager as the reporting manager.
Requirements
- Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
- Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry is preferred.
- Passion for the beauty industry, willingness to keep learning, a positive attitude, and a team-player mentality.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
- Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
- Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
- Provide quality professional service through technical skills and recommend appropriate retail products to clients.
- Respond professionally to customer-service issues and promptly address complaints.
- Exhibit good communication skills.
- Continue education on products, services, and current industry issues.
- Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board regulations.
- Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
- Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
- Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
- Meet salon attendance and tardiness guidelines.
- Maintain an updated professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
