About The Position

The Nail Technician provides salon clients with professional services relating to the care and treatment of nails and skin. The role is based in a high-volume salon and spa specializing in natural nails, manicures, pedicures, and gel/Shellac services. The Nail Technician is expected to contribute to the salon’s growth, provide quality client service, and participate actively in ongoing education. The company offers opportunities for in-house and outside education classes.

The position reports to the Salon Manager or Desk Manager, is nonexempt, and is described as full-time. Salon locations are in high-traffic, premier mall locations throughout the Southeast.

Requirements

• Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
• Participate actively in ongoing education.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
• Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry is preferred.
• Positive attitude and team-player mentality.
• Passion for the beauty industry and willingness to keep learning.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
• Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
• Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
• Provide quality professional services and recommend appropriate retail products to clients.
• Respond professionally to customer-service issues and promptly address complaints.
• Exhibit good communication skills.
• Participate in ongoing education on products, services, and current industry issues.
• Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
• Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and managing client cards.
• Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
• Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
• Meet salon attendance and punctuality guidelines.
• Maintain an updated professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
