About The Position
The Nail Technician provides salon clientele with professional services relating to the care and treatment of nails and skin. The role reports to the Salon Manager and is nonexempt. The salon is a high-volume salon and spa specializing in natural nails, manicures, pedicures, and gel/Shellac services. The position calls for a positive attitude, a team-player mentality, passion for the beauty industry, and willingness to continue learning. Active participation in ongoing education is required; in-house and external education opportunities are provided. The role is based in a premier, high-traffic mall salon and contributes to the salon’s growth by providing professional client services, building a client base, supporting retail sales, maintaining salon standards, and communicating with management.
Requirements
- Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
- Actively participate in ongoing education.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
- Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
- Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
- Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
- Provide quality professional service through technical skills and prescribe appropriate retail products to clients.
- Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
- Exhibit good communication skills.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education on products, services, and current industry issues.
- Ensure personal work areas and the salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
- Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
- Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
- Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
- Meet salon attendance and tardiness guidelines.
- Maintain an updated professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
