Nail Technician - Part Time - Independence
About The Position
The Nail Technician provides salon clientele with professional services relating to the care and treatment of nails and skin. This part-time, nonexempt position reports to the Salon Manager and works in a high-volume salon and spa specializing in natural nails, manicures, pedicures, and gel/Shellac services. The salon emphasizes a positive attitude, teamwork, passion for the beauty industry, and ongoing learning through in-house and outside education opportunities. The technician is responsible for delivering quality client services, supporting service and retail sales goals, building and maintaining a client base, addressing customer concerns professionally, and keeping the personal work area and salon clean and compliant with State Board Regulations. The role also includes maintaining professional presentation, communicating with salon management, and meeting attendance and dress-code guidelines.
Requirements
- Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
- Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
- Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
- Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
- Provide quality professional services through technical skills and prescribe appropriate retail products to clients.
- Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
- Exhibit good communication skills.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education on products, services, and current industry issues.
- Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
- Perform basic salon housekeeping duties, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
- Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
- Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
- Meet salon attendance and tardiness guidelines.
- Maintain an updated professional appearance and meet the salon dress code.
