Nail Technician - Loews Arlington Hotel
About The Position
The Nail Technician performs nail care services while providing the highest quality of customer service at The Spa Loews Arlington, located within the Loews Arlington Hotel. The role provides nail grooming, polish application, massage, and exfoliation services according to established guidelines, current licensure, and guest expectations. The technician assesses guest contraindications, uses universal precautions, maintains clean and properly prepared work areas and equipment, and keeps current knowledge of nail care and spa services. The role also includes explaining products and services, making recommendations, maintaining client cards and treatment notes when appropriate, completing side work, attending meetings and training, and reporting incidents or accidents to management. The position works an assigned schedule and must be available when the facility is open, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Valid state license in nail services or other credentials required by the state.
- Previous nail technician experience.
- Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
- Ability to build rapport with guests and explain treatments and services.
- Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
- Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
- Strong team player.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort with making product recommendations.
- Availability when the facility is open, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly; may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, use tactile sense, perform repetitive motions, see, hear, talk, and maintain visual acuity.
- Ability to work around fumes, odors, and dust.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Arch Amenities Group service standards, values, policies, and brand standards.
- Perform nail services in accordance with established service guidelines and guest expectations, including nail grooming, polish application, massage, and exfoliation.
- Perform treatments listed on the service menu that are within current licensure.
- Assess guest contraindications that may prevent a service from taking place.
- Attend to guest needs throughout each service.
- Use universal precautions when providing services.
- Clean and disinfect equipment daily and keep work areas clean and set according to procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of nail care for hands and feet and knowledge of spa services offered.
- Understand product ingredients and explain product benefits to guests.
- Answer guest questions professionally and knowledgeably; recommend products for home use and other beneficial spa treatments.
- Begin and end treatments on time; work the assigned schedule and arrive and depart on time.
- Inform the Spa Director or other management personnel about product needs.
- Create and maintain client cards and treatment notes when appropriate.
- Complete assigned side work and attend scheduled meetings and professional training.
- Report incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
