About The Position

The Nail Technician is responsible for performing nail care services while providing the highest quality of customer service at The Spa Loews Arlington, located within the Loews Arlington Hotel. Services include nail grooming, polish application, massage, and exfoliation, performed according to established service guidelines and the technician’s current licensure. The role involves assessing guest contraindications, addressing guest needs throughout treatments, and maintaining knowledge of spa services and product ingredients so benefits can be explained and recommendations made. The technician maintains clean, properly prepared work areas and equipment, follows universal precautions and Arch Amenities Group policies and brand standards, and completes documentation, side work, meetings, training, and other assigned duties. The schedule must be worked reliably and may include nights, weekends, and holidays when the facility is open. The position involves working around fumes, odors, and dust and using nail-care tools and products.

Requirements

Valid state license in nail services or other credentials required by the state.
Previous nail technician experience.
Customer service experience; spa experience is preferred, and the ability to build rapport with guests is required.
Ability to explain treatments and services to guests.
Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
Ability to work efficiently, stay organized, handle multiple duties, and work as part of a team.
Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational approach; professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Comfort with recommending products.
Availability to work when the facility is open, potentially including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to perform light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or negligible force constantly to move light objects; may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Abilities required include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, tactile sense, repetitive motions, seeing, hearing, talking, and visual acuity.

Responsibilities

Deliver the Arch Amenities Group guest experience by following the company’s mission, values, standards, expectations, and brand standards.
Follow Arch Amenities Group policies.
Perform nail grooming, polish application, massage, and exfoliation services according to established guidelines and guest expectations.
Perform treatments listed on the services menu when covered by current licensure.
Assess guest contraindications that could prevent a service from taking place.
Attend to guest needs throughout the service.
Use universal precautions when providing services.
Clean and disinfect equipment daily.
Maintain current knowledge of hand and foot nail care, spa services, and product ingredients; explain product benefits to guests.
Answer guest questions professionally and knowledgeably.
Recommend products for home use and suggest other beneficial spa treatments.
Start and finish treatments on time.
Work the assigned schedule and arrive and depart on time.
Keep work areas clean and set up according to procedures.
Inform the Spa Director or other management personnel about product needs.
Create and maintain client cards and treatment notes when appropriate.
Complete assigned side work.
Attend scheduled meetings and professional training.
Report incidents or accidents to management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
