About The Position

Ryder is immediately hiring a permanent, full-time Nail Maintenance Associate to ensure excellent craftsmanship at our manufacturing facility in Lakewood, WA. This role involves pallet repair using various tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and on-the-job training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 to 2 years or more in Carpentry, Manufacturing Environment preferred.
• Ability to comprehend basic math.
• Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner.
• Must be able to follow repair process.
• Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day).
• Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.

Responsibilities

• Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards.
• Manually lift 75 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table.
• Complete minor repairs such as cutting loose nails or securing loose components.
• Operate a hammer, grinder, and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components.
• Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP’s quality control audit.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety.
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
• Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
