About The Position

Ryder is immediately hiring a permanent, full-time Nail Maintenance Associate to ensure excellent craftsmanship at our manufacturing facility in Lakewood, WA. This position is a warehouse, manufacturing, and construction role that pays weekly at a rate of $18.00 per hour. We are looking for the right Manufacturing Employee to join us and work with state-of-the-art equipment in the safest warehouse environment. Various construction, building, carpentry, manufacturing, warehouse, skilled, and semi-skilled labor roles at Ryder support distribution across the US.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 to 2 years or more in Carpentry, Manufacturing Environment preferred
• Ability to comprehend basic math
• Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner
• Must be able to follow repair process
• Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
• Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)
• Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements

Responsibilities

• Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards
• Manually lift 75 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table
• Complete minor repairs such as cutting loose nails or securing loose components
• Operate a hammer, grinder, and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components
• Pallet must meet and pass CHEP’s quality control audit
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
• Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
• Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
• Performs other duties as assigned
