Join our team to "Make the Difference" by creating a lasting positive impact on the world and the communities where we operate. e-STORAGE is looking for a Medium Voltage Electrical Safety & Commissioning Manager to support utility-scale battery energy storage projects across the Americas. This role will act as a regional technical authority for medium-voltage electrical systems, with a focus on safe switching operations, commissioning, energization, isolation, grounding, LOTO, and electrical safety procedures. You will help ensure that e-STORAGE’s project and service teams are operating safely, consistently, and in line with applicable electrical codes and standards across Canada, the United States, and Latin America. You will work closely with commissioning, service, site, contractor, and global technical teams to support safe project execution and operational performance. This includes helping standardize electrical safety rules, switching procedures, permits, risk assessments, and operating practices across the Americas.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with medium-voltage electrical systems, ideally up to 34.5kV, within utility-scale infrastructure, renewables, BESS, substations, power generation, or similar environments
  • Demonstrated experience performing, supervising, or authorizing MV switching activities, including isolation, grounding, LOTO, energization, and safe work planning
  • Strong understanding of North American electrical safety codes and standards, including CSA, NEC, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, and local utility requirements
  • Experience supporting commissioning, energization, operations, maintenance, or field service activities for complex electrical systems
  • Experience developing or implementing electrical safety procedures, switching procedures, permits, risk assessments, method statements, or operating standards
  • Degree, diploma, trade qualification, or equivalent practical experience in electrical engineering, power systems, electrical technology, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support medium-voltage switching activities across BESS projects, including isolation, grounding, LOTO, energization, and safe switching practices
  • Support commissioning and operational activities for medium-voltage electrical systems, ensuring work is completed safely and in line with applicable standards
  • Develop, implement, and standardize electrical safety rules, switching procedures, permits, and operational practices across the Americas
  • Provide technical leadership to site teams, contractors, commissioning teams, and service teams during electrical work, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational activities
  • Conduct and review electrical risk assessments, method statements, switching plans, permits, and safety documentation
  • Work with global technical leaders, including the UK-based HV/MV technical function, to align regional practices with global electrical safety and operational standards
  • Support compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, utility requirements, and regulatory expectations across Canada, the United States, and Latin America
  • Monitor electrical system performance, identify technical or safety risks, and support corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to travel to project sites across the Americas as required, particularly during commissioning, energization, switching activities, and major operational milestones
