About The Position

Decima International is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Technician to support independent, third-party commissioning of electrical systems on data center projects. Working under the direction of a Commissioning Engineer, the technician performs, witnesses, and documents field inspections and tests to verify that power equipment is installed correctly, tested safely, and ready to be energized and loaded. The role requires hands-on electrical commissioning experience, strong documentation skills, and safe collaboration with contractors and equipment vendors during inspections, energization, functional testing, and Integrated Systems Testing. The position is based at project sites across the United States and requires 50–75% travel, including extended assignments of three weeks or more. Travel, lodging, and per diem are provided according to company policy. Site rotations are planned before each project and typically involve two to three weeks on site and one week off site, subject to project requirements and delays. Work takes place in active construction and data center environments, including at heights and in mechanical and electrical rooms, as well as hot or noisy areas.

  • Perform and witness installation and static checks, including terminations and torque, insulation resistance, polarity, phase rotation, grounding and bonding, and relay and protection settings.
  • Witness contractor and vendor testing, including primary and secondary injection testing, breaker testing, and thermography.
