About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a skilled musician and dedicated educator to teach private music lessons and inspire students. The Music Teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of different ages and skill levels. The role includes building relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates, as well as coordinating with store teams on lesson scheduling and student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The position offers a non-teaching rate of $16 per hour and a teaching rate of $10.50–$26 per hour, depending on background and experience. Pay may vary based on location, experience, education, and other factors. Musicians employed by Music & Arts may take gig leave to perform or tour and return to their job afterward.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of music teaching experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• At least 8 years of teaching experience, especially across multiple instruments: banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
