About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting each student’s musical growth and enjoyment. The role also contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and may include assisting with Customer service as needed. You will work with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students according to community needs, and build trusting relationships with students and their families through frequent communication. You will share progress and goals with students and/or parents and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as part of the teaching partnership. The listed pay is $16.00–$17.00 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $26.80 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, bass, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Teach music lessons using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Help students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music.
Assist with Customer service as needed and help create a positive experience that builds and maintains long-term students.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
Share each student’s goals and progress with the student and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
