About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to grow student enrollment and help each student continue to develop and enjoy playing music, while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, helps with customer service as needed, and builds lasting student relationships through a positive experience. The teacher also communicates frequently with students and families about progress and goals, building trusting partnerships with parents.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Communicate each student’s progress and share goals and progress with students and/or parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
