About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase student enrollment and help each student grow, develop, and enjoy playing music, while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, supports customer service as needed, and builds long-term student relationships through a positive experience. The role also involves frequent communication with students and families about progress and goals.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keys.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed to build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and acknowledge parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
- Communicate each student’s progress and share student and/or parent goals and progress frequently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
