About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking an educator and skilled musician to teach private music lessons and inspire students. The Music Teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels. The role includes communicating with students and parents about goals and progress, coordinating with store teams on lesson scheduling and student retention, and sharing musical expertise to foster student growth. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The listed pay is $18.70 per hour for non-teaching work, plus $10–$20 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors. Musicians may use gig leave to take time off to perform or tour and return to their job afterward.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of music teaching experience.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
- Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
- 8 or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
