About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase and retain student enrollment while helping students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music. It also supports a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and provides an excellent customer experience. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assists with customer service as needed, and builds lasting student relationships. The teacher communicates regularly with students and families about progress and goals, building trusting partnerships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their children.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area they will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and embracing parents’ knowledge of their child.
Communicate students’ progress and goals to students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
