About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while ensuring that students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music. The role also supports a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. You will work with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, and provide customer service as needed to create a positive experience and build long-term student relationships. You will communicate regularly with students and families about progress and goals, while building trusting partnerships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child as a music learner.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, keyboard, or vocals.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area they will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed to create a positive experience and build and maintain long-term students.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and embracing parents’ knowledge of their child as a music learner.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
