About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum and help increase student enrollment and retention. You will support each student’s growth and enjoyment of music while contributing to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The role also includes providing excellent customer service and building long-term relationships with students and their families. Compensation is listed as $16.00–$17.00 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $26.80 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, location, and other factors.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area the candidate will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their children.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
