About The Position

As a Music Teacher, you will teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase student count while ensuring that each student continues to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music. The role supports Guitar Center’s culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and emphasizes providing an excellent Customer experience. You will work with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, and partner with students and their families through frequent communication and trusting relationships. You will communicate student progress and share goals with students and/or parents.

Requirements

Previous experience in Music, Education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
Assist with Customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Communicate each student’s progress to students and/or parents.
Frequently share students’ and/or parents’ goals and progress.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
