About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Music Teacher to teach lessons according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The teacher works to increase student count and support each student's growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The role also contributes to a Customer First experience and helps build lasting relationships with students and families. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, teaches the assigned instrument, and assists with customer service as needed. They communicate frequently with students and families about progress and goals, building trusting partnerships that recognize parents' knowledge of their children.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area to be taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a positive experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
Communicate each student's progress to the student and/or their parents.
Share students' and/or parents' goals and progress frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
