About The Position
As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help grow and retain student enrollment while supporting each student's development and enjoyment of playing music. The role also contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and provides an excellent customer experience. You will work with the store Lessons Lead to schedule lessons and retain students based on community needs. You will also communicate frequently with students and families about progress and goals, build trusting relationships, and assist with customer service as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area to be taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule lessons and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents' knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
- Communicate each student's progress to the student and/or parents.
- Frequently share students' and/or parents' goals and progress.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
