About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase student enrollment and help each student continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music, while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students, communicates frequently with students and families about progress and goals, and assists with customer service as needed to build long-term student relationships. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help create a positive experience that builds and maintains long-term student relationships.
- Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or parents frequently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
