About The Position

Guitar Center’s mission is to develop and nurture lifelong musicians and make a difference by enabling people to experience the joy of creating music. The Music Teacher teaches lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum and works to increase student enrollment while helping each student grow, develop, and enjoy playing music. The role supports a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and provides an excellent customer experience.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and valuing parents’ knowledge of their child.
Communicate each student’s progress to the student and/or their parents.
Share students’ and/or parents’ goals and progress frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
