About The Position
The Music Teacher provides music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase student enrollment and help each student continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, and communicates frequently with students and families about goals and progress. Customer service may also be provided as needed to create a positive experience and build long-term student relationships.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed to help create a positive experience and build long-term student relationships.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their children.
- Communicate students’ progress and goals to students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
