About The Position

As a Music Teacher, you will teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting each student's growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music. The role also contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and may include assisting with customer service as needed. You will work with students and families through frequent communication, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents' knowledge of their children. You will share updates on students' progress and goals. The listed pay is $16.00–$17.00 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $26.80 per hour total teaching rate, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums or guitar.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area to be taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a positive experience.
Communicate frequently with students and their families to build trusting relationships.
Share students' goals and progress with students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
