About The Position

The Music Teacher provides music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role focuses on helping students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while fostering integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The Music Teacher works with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, communicates regularly with students and families about progress and goals, and supports customer service as needed to build lasting student relationships.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Support customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
Communicate each student's progress and share student and/or parent goals and progress frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
