About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking an educator and skilled musician to teach private music lessons and inspire students. The Music Teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels. The role includes building relationships with students and parents through communication, goal-setting, and progress updates, and partnering with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching and student development. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience, and two years of music teaching experience, especially with a woodwind instrument. Advanced music degrees, professional teaching memberships or certifications, and extensive experience teaching multiple instruments are preferred. The listed pay is $17.00 per hour for non-teaching work and $10.50–$22.00 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience. Pay may vary by location and individual experience, education, and other factors. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of music teaching experience, especially with a woodwind instrument.
Nice To Haves
- Further teaching experience with related instruments.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
- Professional teaching membership or certification.
- Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
