About The Position

The Music Teacher provides music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role focuses on helping students grow and enjoy playing music while contributing to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher works with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students according to community needs, supports Customer service as needed, and builds long-term student relationships through a positive experience. The role also involves frequent communication with students and families about student goals, progress, and development.

Requirements

Previous experience in Music, Education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area the candidate will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with Customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
Share students’ goals and progress frequently with students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
