Music Teacher - Long-Term Substitute
About The Position
St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School, part of the Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation, is seeking an energetic and organized Music Teacher for a full-time, long-term substitute position. This role involves instructing PreK-8th grade students during a maternity leave, with approximate dates from March to May 2027. All curriculum, lesson plans, and materials will be provided and accessible through Google Drive, Google Slides, and Google Classroom. The primary responsibilities include executing prepared lesson plans, maintaining classroom management and routines, and fostering music-making activities across all grade levels.
Requirements
- Experience with elementary and/or middle school classroom management.
- Confidence using Google Suite and classroom technology.
- Strong sense of organization and communication.
- Applicants should be faith-filled but do not need to be Catholic, upholding the school's Catholic values and commitment to student development.
- Applicants should be comfortable singing and leading movement-based activities, though they do not need to be a certified music educator.
Responsibilities
- Execute prepared daily lesson plans via Google Suite.
- Maintain established classroom management, behavior expectations, and daily routines.
- Supervise student use of classroom instruments and materials and maintain an organized classroom environment.
- Lead songs, games, and movement activities to continue a spirit of music-making.
